The Sun

Sparshott series

Television programmes

The Sun was a comic that ran from 11/11/1947. It was initially published fortnightly by J B Allen, and bought by the Amalgamated Press as paper restrictions were still in force post World War 2, making it difficult to start up new comics. It  was later incorporated into Lion.

For a short period it reprinted St. Jim's stories from the Gem, but they were not a success. The slang was updated and the stories were too short to allow any real development, and they were abandoned.
